BIOGRAPHY
Jon Roberts is a sculptor and mixed media artist whose work explores the boundary between object and image. Rooted in natural elements like sky, water, and shoreline, his simplified forms invite emotion, wonder, and a fresh way of seeing. Many of his pieces are installed in exterior landscapes, though they are also intended for interior settings.
Working with materials like wood, steel, and copper, Roberts often employs naturally aging patinas and oxidative treatments to evoke the passage of time—reflecting a deep interest in both human fragility and resilience.
He holds a BA in Studio Art and Physics and completed undergraduate theses in both disciplines. Though he did not pursue physics professionally, its influence endures in his focus on underlying structures and the shared pursuit—across both science and art—of uncovering essential truths.
In addition to his fine art pursuits, he has art-directed and creative-directed for international commercial clients, helped launch Burlington’s first South End Art Hop, and represented the Webb & Parsons Gallery at the acclaimed inaugural Outsider Art Fair in New York.
